COSTA DEL ESTE
This
pueblo is situated on Km 333 of Route 11 between Mar del Tuyu and Aguas
Verdes.
Punta
del Lago
This
ecological reserve with an artificial lake, runs along the inter beaches
road close to the access to the village. It has an animal farm and
facilities for a day out, grill pits, fishing and children amusements as
well as sport activities such as kayaking, boating, volleyball and
football.
Bosque Equestrian Club
This
club organizes guided horse rides during the day and nocturnal and has a
equestrian school with classes for different age groups. Location: 4th
Avenue and Los Pensamientos Street – Punta del Lago.
“La
Reserva” Wood
This
is a spectacular outing with a path for bikes and footpath inside the
woods with 2 entrances, one on Las Camelias Street and 5th
Avenue and the other one on Interbalnearia Av. and 6th Av.It
may also be reached from the beach. It is one of the wildest parts of
the coast and the dunes are still covered with native vegetation.
“Las
Camelias” Promenade
This
is made with natural pink stones which border the high pine groves with
an impeccable landscaping made up of bushes and colourful flowers. There
are 15 shops selling crafts, clothing and accessories, real estate
agents and tea shops in a attractive setting. Location: 350, Las
Camelias between 2nd & 3rd Avenues.
Statue of Christ and Mary Magdalene
This
sculpture done in Carrara Marble was donated to Costa del Este by
Argentine painter/sculptor Raul Podesta and finished in 1944 after 6
years of work. It has 5 metres of height. It is protected by an
egg-shaped cubicle so as not to be eroded. It is situated on Los
Pensamientos Street and 4th Avenue.
