BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE: DECEMBER

First week – General Guido – Labarden – Provincial “Criollo” Horse
Festival – countryside gaucho skills show; Folkloric festival;
Traditionalist Centres parade of horse herds and carriages; Artisan
fair; Expos; Election of the queen; Great popular dance; Organized by
the Civil Association Fiesta Provincial del Caballo Criollo.
 December,
First week – Carmen de Areco - Gouin – Pastry Festival- Expo and sale of
home-made sweet pastries; Pastries competition; Typical Argentine
bonfire; Sale of crafts; choosing of the best pastry; Election of the
queen and of the best pastry maker; Show and dancing; Organized by the
Municipal Fiesta committee.
December, First week – General
Alvarado – Miramar – Tradition Festival by the Sea – Cultural and sports
activities; Artistic shows; Organized by Egatur.
 December,
First week – La Costa – Santa Teresita – La Costa Preliminary Cosquin
Festival –Competition of Regional folkloric expressions; Three nights of
singing and dancing shows, admittance free; Election of artists to
participate in the preliminary selection for the Cosquin, Cordoba
Province Festival selection; It takes place at the Santa Teresita del
Niño Jesus Plaza.

First week – Benito Juarez – “Encuentro Folklorico Fortines y Tolderias”
– ( Forts and Indian typical Villages Folkloric Encounters ) –
Appreciation of our culture and heritage week; Conferences, Expos,
Parades; Plastic Arts, literary, music and dance workshops; Open air
artistic festival; “Yanquetruz” trophy to winners of the tournament;
Election of the queen; Organized by Folklore Centre El Sombrerito.
December 7, 8, & 9 – General
Madariaga – National Gaucho Fiesta – Artisan fair; Painting, Sculpture,
Photography, Murals and Ceramics Expositions; Parades; Conferences
directed to spreading gaucho culture; Virgin of Lujan procession; Open
air Mass; Symbolic opening of country gates; Typical Argentine Thatched
roof “quincho” barbecue & food; popular bonfires by night; Official
lunch; Gala parade; Gaucho skills contest; Election of the queen;
Folkloric show with local, and regional artists; Organized by Civil
Association National Gaucho Festival.
December, Second fortnight –
Ezeiza – Carlos Spegazzini – Folkloric “Tranquera Abierta” Festival –
(Open Typical Country Gates Festival ) – Artistic shows; Popular
singing, poetry, music and traditional dance exhibitions; Popular
dances; Election of the queen; It takes place at the municipal sports
centre; Organized by Native Association “El Folklore”.
