INTRODUCTION
At the end of the 19th
Century the Scot Henry Smith arrived in Buenos
Aires
Port carrying wooden clubs with a metal head at the lower end.
Customs officers suspected they were weapons and wanted to take them
away. After a long explanation he was let in with the clubs and golf
was free to be born in Argentina. It is a very popular sport today
amongst foreign tourists today and the National Tourism Secretariat
has special plans for visitors who wish to play during their stay.
There are golf courses all over the country thus offering potential
players many different alternatives and styles.
