GOLF EQUIPMENT
The modern golf clubs are made with very
advanced materials and techniques and each player can carry up to
fourteen clubs .The clubs intended for hitting hard and send the ball
farther are called ?woods? though they are currently steel or titanium.
There
are usually three woods for the long shots. Each club is numbered. The
higher the number, the higher the inclination angle of the head. For the
rest of the strokes, the irons are used, nine or ten of them. The
difference between these clubs is at the angle at their base which
changes the inclination so that the ball is thrown more horizontally or
higher depending on the distance to the hole. The clubs that have more
inclination are called wedges. Their names are: Pitching wedge, Sand
wedge 56°, Gap wedge 52°, Low wedge 60° and Putter used to push the ball
with a putt stroke into the hole in the greens.
The diameter of the ball cannot be smaller
than 42, 67 mms. and its weight no more than 45 , 93 grams. The surface
of the ball has a few little dimples about 360 of them which help the
stability of the ball in flight. There is also a kind of bag used to
retrieve balls when they fall into the lake.
Clothing: Gentlemen use high neck polo
shirts and jeans are not allowed. Women must use the same shirts, are
not allowed to use low in the neck clothing nor jeans.
