SAFETY
Buenos Aires is a safe city, but as in any
large metropolis, you should take some precautions. For example, do not
leave handbags hanging from chairs in public places or walk at night on dark
streets.

Defensoría del Turista: If you visit the city and suffer some form of abuse or discrimination, contact the Tourist Ombudsman, by calling 4302 7816. You can press charges personally at Avenida Pedro de Mendoza 1835 (Museum of Fine Arts "Benito Quinquela Martin") in the neighbourhood of La Boca, from Monday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Tourist Police Station: Takes care of complaints made by tourists victims of
robbery, crimes, thefts, people who are lost, and misplaced ones. They may
assist in the process before embassies or consulates. There are people who
speak English, Italian, French, Portuguese, Ukrainian and Japanese.

A simple phone call in a difficult situation, can be made from any public phone. We receive and help with complaints: Commercial abuse cases, robberies, crime, lost people and misunderstandings due to the lack of fulfillment of a hired service. It is toll-free and works every day from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Attention in English, Portuguese, Italian and French.
