Legislature:
This
building is on San Martin Plaza, in the block of 7, 51, 8, & 53 Streets.
It was designed by German architects Gustav Heine & George Hageman from
Hannover who won the International Project Contest called by the
Provincial Government in the year 1881.The architect who directed the
construction of this classic style building was Carlos Nordman. There
are four symbolic sculptures on the sides: Justice on 7 Street, the
Constitution on 51 Street and Glory on 53 Street. The furniture was
bought in France in 1887 at the Damon House of Paris and the ceiling of
the Chamber of Deputies was painted by Graziano Mendilaharzu.
Plaza Moreno:
This
the geometric centre of the city and the central avenue of the plaza
allows for the appreciation of both, the Cathedral and the Municipal
Palace.
Municipal Palace:
This is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. It stands on the opposite side of the Cathedral, separated by Plaza Moreno and surrounded by 51 & 53 Avenues and 11 & 12 Streets. It was built in German Renaissance style after the already above mentioned contest, by architect Uberto Stier from the Hannover School. The construction work began in 1883 under architect Ernesto Meyer and it covers an area of 14,400 square meters including gardens. Guided tours are offered between 09.00 and 17.00 Hs. Argentino
Theatre:
This
cultural complex is the headquarters of the Ballet and the Opera with
numerous grand halls, three levels of foyers with a sitting capacity for
2,200 people. At present, the works usually presented in the Colon
Theatre are being staged here as the Colon is undergoing transformation.

Government House:
Belgian
architect Julio Doral was who made the project of Government House, on
the other side of Plaza San Martin and opposite the Legislature. It was
built in Renaissance style with bricks and stone, with a wonderful Palms
Patio, great stairs and the Golden Hall decorated by Augusto Ballerini.
