Coliseo Podesta Theatre:
Known
as Politeama Olimpo until 1920 when it was re-baptized Coliseo Podesta,
it is made as an Italian theatre with the main hall in a horse-shoe
shape typical of the 19th Century. The guided tours take
people through both, the sectors normally used by the public and also to
those parts which hide the magic and history of the theatre such as the
underground spaces ( under the stalls ).
The Museum is open to the public Mondays to Fridays from 10.00Hs to 12.00Hs and the guided tours take place Wednesdays from 10.00Hs to 12.00Hs. Address : 10, Street between 46 & 47.
Casa Curutchet:
This
is the only project of Le Corbusier built in Latin America; the house
used to be the home and offices of Doctor Pedro Curuchet. Bearing in
mind how important the building is as part of the architectural
heritage, the current owner has given custody of the house to the BuenosBuenos Airesnce Architects who have their offices there as well as take
care of the maintenance of the house.

Zoo and Botanical Gardens:
Founded in 1907 at the Paseo del Bosque, with a Victorian style, covering 14 hectares; it is inhabited by over 180 exotic and indigenous species. About two thirds of the space is dedicated to the main bio-geographic regions of Argentina, the tropical and sub-tropical Amazon, the Chaco, and the Andean-Patagonian. The rest of the space is reserved for specimens from North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Natural Science Museum of La Plata:
It
opened to the public in 1888; The founder and first director was the
Perito Francisco Pascacio Moreno who donated all his private
collections. The building is Neo-Classic style and the ornamentation
pre-columbine. There are over three million objects in the different
collections amongst them Great Mammals, fossils from the Tertiary and
Quaternary periods and huge archeological and ethnographic collections.
It has 21 permanent exhibition halls for objects, fauna, flora and
cultures of, mainly, South America. Address: Paseo del Bosque.
