Lobos Lagoon Tourism Centre:
The
Lobos Lagoon is located 15 kms from the city centre, 115 kms from the
Federal Capital and 130 kms from the city of La Plata and to reach it
one takes route 205 at km 111,5 and then makes 4 kms on a paved road
situated on the right hand side of the aforementioned route.
Activities: the main activity here is fishing on boats and there is
great abundance of indigenous fish such as: “pejerrey, dentudos,
tarariras, bogas, bagres, carpas and mojarras”.
Other
sports practiced here are windsurf, canoeing, regattas, water skiing,
and water bike racing (from December to March). There is a well-equipped
camping for rents and caravans, bungalows and country inns. Among the
services on offer are: the hiring of football fields, volleyball courts,
boats and engines, pier for launching boats, as well as grocery stores,
restaurants, hot water showers, children amusement grounds, water bikes,
etc.
The
oldest institution within the lagoon grounds is the Club de Pesca de
Lobos which created a breeding pools for sowing 5,000 fish which has
conserved and encouraged fishing in the area.
Aero Club Lobos Fort
In
1966, the Aero club Fortin Lobos receives authorization to function as
Civil Piloting School and Training Centre and sports complex in the 100
hectares grounds set in a natural environment. Flying and the training
of civil pilots are currently the main goal of the club.
People
leave the school with a BREVET given by the ACFL allowing them to fly in
Argentina and in most countries of the world. Para-shooting is also
practiced here and there is a Golf Club with an 18-hole links covering 7
kms with artificial lagoons and a design that meets the highest
standards. It was finished in 1975 and was certified by the Argentine
Golf Association. Golf is played here all year round and a Grand Prix
tournament Is played every April.
The
club is equipped with changing rooms, café, restaurant, caddy service,
carts, driving and instructors as well as a huge swimming pool and
solarium for members.
