MAR DEL TUYÚ
Fishing Pier
It has 100 meters of length and 4 meters width and a fishing platform of 10 by 20 meters; built in wood with a height of 4 to 6 meters, it counts with public lighting, and fishing rods to hire and public lavatories.
Location: Costanera Avenue and 75th Street.
Mar
del Tuyu Light Louse
Located on 69th Street between Costanera Av. and 1st
St. and has 25 meters of height. The light can be seen from a distance
of 20 sea miles and has great importance for coastal navigation
especially fishing boats. It is a great place to enjoy the sea for
families with 100 to 150 meters-wide beaches.
The
Ovals
These
buildings are a very typical urban characteristic of Mar del Tuyu with
beautiful constructions, shopping malls and the Municipal Palace which
used to be the Gran Hotel Tuyu in 1948 and lasted till 1978 when it
becomes the Municipal Palace keeping the front appearance and interior
details.

Stella Maris Virgin Image
It
is situated next to the Nautical Club together with the Cross of the New
Evangelization which was built in “red quebracho hardwood” in just one
whole piece and the image of the Virgin patron saint of the seafarers,
built in concrete.

“Rene
Mermier” Museum
There
are more than 4,000 diverse objects exhibited here illustrating the
history of the region. The objects were gathered by the founder, Rene
Mermier, bohemian and traveler who lived in Mar del Tuyu the last 15
years of his life.
Location: Plaza of the Argentine Provinces, 3rd Street
between 56th & 57th.
Sea &
Nautical Provincial Festival
This
festival takes place on the second week end of November on Costanera
Avenue and 76th street with cultural and sports activities,
institutions parade and the election of a queen.
Patron Saint Stella Maris Fiesta
This
Fiesta takes place on the 2nd of February at the Stella Maris
Chapel on 4th Street between 61st &62nd.
Activities: Procession, Blessing of the Image, visit of the Bishop from
Chascomus.
