THROUGH THE WINE ROADS IN TUPUNGATO
The program includes:
*Accommodation 4 days/ 3 nights at the hotel chosen.
Optional: you can stay the first two nights at Salentein Inn, in
Salentein winery.
*All transfers in and out and detailed tours (includes group tours and
private tours)
*Spanish speaking guide in all the tours
*Lunch at ‘La Tupiña’ restaurant and Ruca Malen winery.
*Visit to the wineries as indicated in the itinerary
Note: the passengers can make some changes in the wineries suggested but
its location and availability to receive tourists will be taken into
account. The itinerary can be modified as well if on the appointed date
the winery has no availability due to an event or a special visit of
their own.
In this tour we will see the Uco valley Oasis. It is located in the
Southeast of Mendoza city, in the Basin of Tunuyan River and includes
the districts of Tupungato, Tunuyan and San Carlos (the altitude varies
between the 900 and 1500 meters above sea level (2,952 and 4,921 feet).
At present, this is the area with the biggest evolution in wine
investment. This region is perfect for the growing of high quality
grapes and shows the new course of vine-growing and the argentine
enology.
Day 1- Mendoza
Picking you up at the Airport of Mendoza and transfer to the hotel
chosen.
For this day, we suggest you do a city tour visiting the Foundational
Area Museum, the ‘Alameda’, General San Martin Park, Cerro de la Gloria
(Glory’s Hill), among other characteristic places of the province where
the tour guide will tell us the history of the foundation of Mendoza and
the life of the city itself. At the end of the tour, in case of taking
it, we go back to the hotel.
Note: this tour can be done privately or in a group. In case of doing it
as a group tour, it starts at 3p.m. so whether you are able to do it or
not, depends on the time you arrive to Mendoza.
Day 2- Uco Valley Wineries (Tupungato and Tunuyan)
After breakfast, we head towards the district of Tupungato to visit
Andeluna Winery.
Next, we go to the area of Uco Valley trough the productive road to
visit Salentein winery, located at the foot of the Andes, where we will
visit the vineyards and we will taste their wines.
Then, we will have lunch at Altus winery in its restaurant ‘La Tupiña’,
where typical dishes are made and we will taste the Altus wines.
Tourists will be delighted by a beautiful scenery and will be able to do
different activities due to the hospitality of the hosts. An amazing
place to enjoy a unique experience. After lunch, we go back to the hotel
in Mendoza city.
Dinner is on your own.
Day 3 – Wineries in Lujan de Cuyo.
After breakfast, we visit wineries in the area of Lujan de Cuyo. First,
we will visit Catena Zapata winery. In 2001, Nicolás Catena opened a new
winery inspired in the Mayan architecture. The winery, with the highest
technology represents the individuality of the zonda wind and fulfills
the objective of placing the argentine wines in the level of the best
wines of the world. Eager for History, Nicolas Catena chose a Maya
pyramid as the most advanced example of Pre-Columbian America.
From here, we head towards Ruca Malen, a really boutique winery. The
tour begins in the vineyards and continues in the crushing area,
fermentation room, barrel room and bottle storage ending by tasting
their wines at lunch.
After lunch, in the afternoon, we will visit Luigi Bosca winery. Founded
in 1901 by Leoncio Arizu, Luigi Bosca, has a long history in the wine
industry and it is one of the few wineries that are, at present, still
owned by its creators. Its international expansion has been able to
consolidate its prestige based on the experience gained through the
years, the constant and homogeneous quality of their wines, and a
permanent search for excellence through innovation, the dynamism and
advanced technology. After being introduced to their wines and tasting
them, we go back to the hotel.
Dinner is on your own.
Day 4- Mendoza
In the morning and after breakfast, we will take you to the airport in
Mendoza or the bus station where our services end.
