The Artisanal Carnival is held in Lincoln City Lincoln, province of Buenos Aires, during the first fortnight of February. The town was declared “Capital of Carnival Artisan” because of the importance of this event, where the parades take place since early 1900. The carnival tradition is ancient and very characteristic of this area.
The main attractions of the parade floats are generally of about ten meters long and four high. They are made of styrofoam, glue, foam and recyclable materials and are made by hand. The route passes through Massey Avenue, and floats, heads, minicarrozas and also the achievements of the “artisans of mechanical” occur.
Murgas, batucada, samba schools, loose masks and bodies of cheerleaders are added. Different bands are also present. Another of the main attractions are the groups that fill the streets beauty and color. No shortage of musical cars and giant puppets, plus costumed, often wear masks.
