The mission of the MALBA, Constantini Foundation, is since its creation in 2001, to collect, preserve, study and spread Latin American art from the beginning of the 20th Century to the present day.
One of the main objectives is to educate the public and awaken an interest in Latin American creators, contribute to the knowledge of Latin American cultural productions by encouraging the recognition of cultural and artistic diversity of this region. Another important aim is to share responsibility and effort with the national and International community by supporting innovative programs centered round the visual arts and the Latin American culture.
The MALBA founding heritage includes 228 works from the Costantini Collection. Among them, there are paradigmatic pieces by Frida Kahlo, Wilfredo Lam, Roberto Matta, Diego Rivera, Joaquín Torres García, Antonio Berni, Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Jorge de la Vega, Tarsila do Amaral, Pedro Figari, Lygia Clark, Helio Oiticica, Guillermo Kuitca and José Bedia Valdés, among others. It also organizes temporary exhibitions, film cycles and lectures.
Opening Hours: Thursdays to Mondays and Holidays 12.00hs to 20.00hs. Wednesday till 21.00hs. Tuesdays closed.
