This monument located on the Lujan River, unveiled at the beginning of the 1990s shows the central figure of a boater with oars surrounded by poles with the flags of the Tigre clubs and shows the importance that this sport has in Tigre where towards the end of the 19th Century the first International Regatta was staged on the waters of the Lujan River.This regatta stimulated the establishment of many clubs which had, until then their headquarters at the Riachuelo. Tigre is today the cradle of the sport in Argentina with over fifteen such clubs.
