This Park was born and grew up next to the Museum. It wraps up the Museum and juts up the pure architectural lines of the building; there are some wonderful species of trees growing in the gardens such as magnolias, eucalyptus, “palos borrachos”, prickly Indian figs and “ombues” (tree typical of Argentina, Uruguayan and southern Brazil hinterlands). Amongst the trees there is a bust of the famous poet Jose Hernandez, a valuable piece from the “Rincon de Lopez” school dating from 1778 and primitive iron canons.
