This Park is located just a few blocks from the city centre. One can walk up the granite steps or by car driving up a paved road circling the hill. At the top there is an observatory of the city and Moorish castle which has been converted into a restaurant. The top is about 280metres above sea level, with many trees and offers a marvelous view. It stands only 1,000 meters from the original point where the Independence Fort was built giving birth later to the city in 1823.
Currently, one comes to it by going through the thickly treed area and finding the granite front, of renaissance style which was donated in 1923 by the Italian community. The Park with many coniferous trees and Italian style gardens offers original views and has an amphitheatre called “Martin Fierro” where Easter Week celebrations take place.
