It is located a few blocks from the city centre and it is the main natural attraction for the town. The lagoon at the centre has 68 hectares and is inhabited by swans, widgeons, coypus (amphibian mammal similar to a beaver) and “carpinchos” (a web-footed rodent ). The grounds created as a public park in 1878 offers many attractions and amusements like canoeing and swimming, promenading space, cycling, horse-riding and bird-watching.
There is a camping protected by groups of trees with appropriate installations such as bathrooms, hot water, grills, children playground, football fields and other games as well as a grocery store and security watch. Nautical sports have also been developed and catered for with a boat deposit store and a pier. There are also a horse racing track and an auto racing track inside the park.
