Telephone: 4771-4393 / 6629

The Planetarium is located within the 3 de Febrero Park and was opened to the general public in 1968. The building has 5 rooms and a circular hall with a diameter of 20 mts. and 360 reclining seats, a system of projectors and laser equipment directed to the semi spherical-like cupola (lined with aluminum sheets in its interior) so as to offer a show about the conformation of the universe, about 8,900 stars, constellations and a nebula, recreating the movement of the sky and phenomena such as eclipses or sunrises, and even reconstructing the sky at night.

A 1,530 kilo metal meteorite found in 1965 in Chaco province can be appreciated on the access esplanade. And, there is even a lunar rock brought back by the Apollo XI mission.

The building is symbolically structured around the equilateral triangle, the rhombus, the hexagon and the circumference in an evolution from simple to more complex forms.

Opening Hours : Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays 16.00hs to 19.00hs.
