The construction of this theatre started in 1906 and is considered to be one of the best lyric halls in the country. It opened 10 august 1908 with the interpretation of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut Opera. It has been refurbished in both 1978 and 1998. The furniture came from Vienna, Austria, and very important companies have visited it. It was named after the founder of the city. It also has an art gallery offering many exhibitions during the year.
